Arch Linux – Spring cleaning (moving orphaned packages from [community] to AUR)

 

Arch has moved some packages to the AUR. There are no problems for the server, but if you use some of these packages (server and / or desktop), you need to check the AUR. Some packages have already been adopted.

 

Check the list:

  • addinclude – Utility to add include statements to header- and sourcefiles,for C and C++
  • agave – Colorscheme designer tool for GNOME
  • arch-firefox-search – Firefox Arch search engines (AUR, Pkgs, BBS, Wiki,etc.)

You can install AUR packages with the following command:

pikaur -S <package>

 

Check and delete orphans (Try installing all the orphans from the AUR before you uninstall them):

sudo pacman -Rns $(pacman -Qtdq)
