Do you still don’t know what’s it all about?
We provide a Raspberry Pi – Image combined with documentation to install your own server at home.
(It’s not on GitHub/GitLab yet. We’re working on it. If you don’t want to use the image you can start from scratch. We provide a file – “(Scratch Docu).md” as well.)
2. Operating System for your computer
This is only a “HowTo” in our Guideline.
To stop the leaking issues you’ll need an Android Phone. Microsoft and Apple aren’t modifiable for your privacy needs (closed source). Android is Open Source and it is perfectly usable without Google.
If you know, that a lot of applications, operating systems, cloud services, and other services like Google (search engine) or even Amazon, GMail, Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, Google Drive, Windows, and other services are collecting your data and sell this information to third parties
then PwOSS (Privacy with Open Source Software) is the right address for you to get rid of all your leaking data problem.
Our goal is to reach to the normal user.
What does “normal user” means? People who heard about the issues but don’t know how to stop it.
The good example for this is me. I’m (Dan) a painter and it took me a lot of time to find out what needs to be done to solve all these data leaks. And with all these app- and operating system-updates it’s a running nightmare to keep it functional and running. That’s the reason why we share this project, to reach out to other interested people who want to stop the issues with data leaks. To attain more information about problems quicker and (of course) SOLUTIONS for them.
We haven’t found any similar platform with that much condensed information to stop these issues on all devices so far, so we started this project. There is one website which you can find here (privacytools.io) which is really helpful even though still not the one solution to all these issues.
Our main service is actually yourself.
That means we want to show you the easiest way to stop your data leaks on all your devices, but only you can change your way of thinking and do something against it.
The services we provide are solutions you can find under guidelines (for the main devices) but we might be able one day to get our own distribution for all devices. We already started testing this with our server.
As a good start off, the “base” you will need to get everything usable and accessible, you’ll need your own server (a Raspberry Pi for example). With this server, you will be able to host and use your own services like cloud storage (e.g. Dropbox) and use an encrypted connection for all your devices via VPN.
